day off
Todd took the day off from work to watch Audrey while I went to a dentist appointment.
Our first family picture in a few months. This was the first thing in the morning so we look a bit dishevled.
Todd says about this picture: "You will believe a baby can fly." Apparently this references the Superman movie.

new car!
Grandma Susan unloaded her old car on us today, officially making us a two car family.
Audrey was more interested in spending time with a couple of her favorite people than in kicking the tires.

rainy day
Audrey and I were supposed to make a big trip into Chicago today for a daffodil bulb planting ceremony for the American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days in Cancer Survivors Garden. We decided to stay home because of the rain.
Instead we played and Audrey took a long nap in her swing.

visiting with friends
Friends from high school came over yesterday to visit. Kristin was in town with her son August who is six days younger than Audrey. Her two girls were at home in Iowa. Sara brought her two little ones, Jack and Emma. Jack drew all kinds of pictures, one of which he gave to me and I added to my collection of his art on the fridge. Emma is a big fan of stuffed puppies and was excited to play with Audrey's boxer that she got from our friend Michael.
I had to steal this picture from Sara's blog because none of mine turned out.

our class
I signed up for a new mom class at Rush-Copley Hospital and today was our second session. Audrey is the oldest baby so I thought that she would be the star of the class with all of her smiling and laughing. She has been the worst, crying for most of the class today and last week. The class is informational and doesn't include any interaction for the babies, so I don't really blame her for being bored.
Here she is happy to be home from class and super cute in her first pair of jeans.

turn baby turn
Audrey was on her blanket hanging out and I took my eyes off of her for just a couple of minutes and she had turned herself 90 degrees.
What a surprise to see her in a different spot than where I left her!

out and about
We finally scored some nice weather in the greater Chicagoland area, so Audrey insisted we take her out to celebrate. There was just enough chill in the air to keep us from exploring too much of the neighborhood, but her uncle Jeff will be happy to know she did get a good look at the nearby park's basketball court.

three months
I can't believe Audrey has been in our lives for three months already. Every day we notice her doing something she has never done before that amazes us. She smiles, laughs and talks all of the time and is working hard at holding her head up. Last week at the doctor's office she weighed in at 13 pounds 3 ounces.

together again
Somehow I made it through my first three days back at work and only have two more to go next week. It was so nice to see Audrey when she woke up for the day, as this is her smiliest, happiest time of the day. I think she was happy to see me too.
