Audrey warned us that she does not sing in front of other people; we should know better than to doubt her by now. She knows the songs inside and out and had been singing them at home, but she was not about to give an audience the satisfaction of seeing her perform. She kept her scowl and did not participate at all throughout the entire performance.

ring down: the movie
This week after our weekly walking date with Laura and Jake, I caught Audrey and Jake being very cute on video. Even though she hardly ever actually falls down, Audrey calls ring around the rosie "ring down."
Later this same afternoon Audrey started acting fussy, had a fever and wouldn't eat. We found out this morning that both of the poor girl's ears have infections. She is on medication and already seems to be feeling better.
The one good thing about a trip to the doctor's office is finding out how much she has grown. Audrey is now 23.4 pounds and 33 inches!

Ha-Ha-Ha
Jill recently wrote about the girl's sinister laugh, I figured we should get a clip up here. The laugh is usually in conjunction with pulling a sock on her hand; I think we're doing her a disservice by not having a creepy sock puppet for her to really play up the role of 15 month evil genius...

Audrey (almost) walks!
The girl is getting pretty close to walking on her own. She's been "cruising" for a while, but only recently has she begun to hold herself up under her own power. This weekend she's been taking a step or two and falling into our arms, which may not sound like much but is pretty amazing for her parents. The video shows her pushing her wagon, which is serving well as a bridge into the wonderful world of walking. It won't be long now...

Audrey crawls!
It's just amazing to see these things happen. Audrey's been flirting with crawling for a while, for weeks she's been sitting up on her knees threatening to move, yet staying in place. Recently she started moving around, belly to floor, in an "army crawl," but that was obviously too slow for her. Sometime mid-week it clicked that she could put it all together and really get around; she's a crawler now, and she's getting better at it each day.

Audrey speaks!
More like "Audrey babbles," but that doesn't have the same ring even if it does carry a bit more truth. She totally caught me off guard with one of these when I came home tonight, according to Jill she just starting doing it while sitting in the car this afternoon. We took a father-daughter stroll around the pond after dinner and she had so many stories to tell; I could listen forever.

Audrey eats!
I wanted to capture all the fun of Audrey at the dinner table, but she was just a little too aware of the camera this time around. I think you'll get the gist though in this short clip as Audrey tries carrots for the second time ever. We're introducing peas later this week, I can only hope they go over as well as the sweet potatoes and carrots have...
