visiting the boy part two
More well wishers today.
Aunt Erika dropped in with presents on her way home from work.
Channamom got to spend a little time with her newest grandchild.
Audrey decided she was ready to hold the baby today. She has taken to calling Charlie "my baby!"
And Aunt Erinn and Uncle Kieran closed out the day with a visit before we were discharged.

visiting the boy
Audrey stayed with her Channamom while Dada and Mama recovered at the hospital. Among the sea of doctors and nurses there were a few well wishers too.
Aunt Rickie and Imani were first with bagels and kisses.
Audrey squeezed in some sibling bonding during her visit.
The big sister brought some kisses too.

and then there were two...
We've been talking about it for a long time, so it was with great excitement that we finally introduced Audrey to her baby brother!
Charles Milo was born at 2:50pm, weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces, and measured in at 20 1/4 inches.
Jill was scheduled for her c-section next week, so it was a bit, shall we say surprising, when she started going into labor while I was in city for work. Trying to get to the hospital in time (and just making it by minutes) added to the excitement of the day.
Audrey had a lot of questions for her brother Charlie and made sure to count his toes for us.
We're thrilled, the grandparents were thrilled...baby Charlie is here and now the fun begins!

the boys
Audrey and I met up with Jake and Luke (and their moms and siblings Laura and Brooke and Julie and Brady) on Tuesday to walk and then again today for fun at the children's museum. Since Tuesday Audrey has been talking about Jake and Luke and saying she got to play with "my boys."

locker buddies
Today we met up with one of my favorite friends Nicole and her sons Nathan and Griffin. Nathan and Audrey have never really paid much mind to each other until today. Audrey is old enough now to care about what Nathan is doing and I think Nathan liked that she was entertained by him and followed him around. It was awfully cute.

everybody in
A lot of family come over this weekend to help us get some things ready for the arrival of Audrey's baby brother. Most were required to spend time in the playhut with Audrey.
Saturday Nana and Papa put together and arranged furniture and went through box after box of baby clothes.
Erinn and Kieran brought lunch.
On Sunday Channamom and John brought the cradle, bedding and a swing.
Props to Channamom for making it through the tunnel part of the playhut.

well
Today during the first session of Audrey's new story/craft at the library the librarian was leading a song with arm movements and I was helping Audrey. But Audrey told me "mama, I want to do it myself."
The "craft" today was coloring a picture of a mitten.

Yesterday was Todd's birthday gathering (a bit late).

The playhut was a bit hit. I think Silas was a bit scared of how crazy Brylen and Audrey got.
Rock Band seems to have become tradition in celebrating Todd's birthday.

twenty-five months
I thought Audrey reaching two was crazy. Every day since that milestone I just can't believe how much more grown up she seems. She must think this too, as she now is calling Todd by his first name more than she calls him dada anymore.
Audrey's communication skills continue to amaze me. She carries on actual conversations with Todd and I and is starting to ask all kinds of questions that make sense. We are loving that most days out of the blue she will tell us she is happy.
If all goes as planned, one month from today Audrey will be a big sister. She talks about baby brother quite often so I hope she isn't too traumatized by the new addition coming to our family.

new year, new toy
We get the best hand-me-downs for Audrey from Sara. The other day she gave us a playhut with a tunnel that Jack and Emma have outgrown and Audrey LOVES it. She has been hanging out in it playing with other toys and reading books.
Audrey is happy when Todd sits with her in the "doll house." I lost a bet with Todd that he wouldn't be able to fit through the tunnel.
