playgroup
We hosted the monthly playgroup today and all of the babies wore their Halloween costumes. Audrey did very well keeping her Princess Leia bun wig on!
After everyone left we went outside and tried to get a nice fall-themed photo. Audrey just wanted to eat grass and leaves.

in the conservatory
Last night Todd left work early and met Audrey and I at the Garfield Park Conservatory for the Niki in the Garden exhibit. It was pretty cold outside so we didn't see everything, but Audrey got to touch and sit on many of the huge sculptures and enjoy all of the botanics in the conservatory.

another project
The past several days Audrey has mostly been confined to the upstairs or out of the house because we have been painting the living room and dining room in our never-ending quest to make this house ours.
Here is Audrey during a trip for painting supplies. I love the groovy striped pants!

Audrey dances!
Dinner time around our place often turns into a dance party when Audrey sets her mind to it. This clip features some of her best moves, from the head nod to the bob & weave. I swear I fall more in love with this girl with every passing day...

fall is upon us

Today we went to the Morton Arboretum with Amber, Patrick and Brylen. It was a nice day for a long walk and some off-roading with the strollers.

Yesterday Todd took Audrey on her first carousel ride. During the ride she was cautious but that didn't stop her from waving at onlookers

this week
Nothing too adventurous beyond the usual standing, crawling and playing happened this week...
Aunt Erinn stayed over after Uncle Jeff's birthday party.
Natasha patiently shared her toy with Audrey.
A new favorite is giving kisses to stuffed animals, mama, dada and herself in the mirror.
On Thursday night, Todd was on his own with the baby so I could see Interpol in Chicago with Erinn. All went well until bedtime.

Happy Birthday, Uncle Jeff!
Uncle Jeff turned the big Four-Oh this weekend, so we were off to his neck of the woods to celebrate. As the party was held during the nighttime, our camera was having difficulty producing anything better than colorful fuzz. So you'd think we'd have a photo or two to share of the birthday boy, but sadly we do not. But we did get some glamour shots of Audrey and her cousins Jaila and Imani posing in their play-skirts lovingly made by Grandma Sue.
Bonus: Here is a shot of Audrey, pre-celebration, in her cute party dress.

ten months
We are in the double digits! Audrey is 10 months today! It has been another month of crazy firsts and emerging personality. I wanted so badly for Audrey to start crawling. Now that she can there isn't one moment of rest. She moves all over the house looking for new things to pull herself up on while I follow her hoping to lessen the pain of any fall. Audrey has seven teeth now which she has been using for both good and evil. She is so cute taking bites of banana and crunching cheerios but not so cute biting me while nursing, as she has done at least once a day for the last two weeks. She loves to sweetly wave at everyone she sees but then gets shy when they pay attention to her. Here are some results of following her with the camera this morning before her nap...

baby maraca
Audrey was being super sweet this afternoon shaking her maraca and kissing her stuffed giraffe, but I was still happy when Sara brought Jack and Emma over for a walk around the pond and a stop at the playground for swinging.
