Terry's second Sunday

I feel terrible about the lack of adventure around here lately, so here's the second ever Terry & the Pirates Sunday to quicken your pulse. Can you guess which major character is about to make her debut? Oops, I've said too much already...

Terry's first Sunday

I don't have the next Java Sea Pirate installment ready, so you'll have to accept this Sunday page as my way of saying sorry for being so lazy. It's the very first Terry and the Pirates Sunday; if you want to see more, let me know.

give 'em what they want part 2

I've also been asked for some more Terry, so today I'm posting the Sunday that I constantly see referred to as the "most famous" strip of Caniff's run. Enjoy!

yo ho huh? A Terry & the Pirates bonus...kind of

I was shopping for a library school graduation gift for my friend Alanna today and ran into this book. No, I didn't pick it up for her...

Have they no shame? (asks the guy who scans other people's work and posts it on his own site...)

if you need to see a review, amazon.com has some.

Yo! Ho! Ho! It's a Terry and the Pirates bonus!

To make up for the lack of Terry around here lately, I'm posting this, a reprint of a trade advertisement from 1937. In the warts-and-all spirit of this site, I've left the ad copy in, complete with its cringe inducing commentary on "China boy". This brand of comic relief spoils the fun for me a little, but I have to admit the action of the ad really does capture the excitement of Caniff's strip.

a little more Terry today

I found this in one of the Kitchen Sink Steve Canyon magazines. It's a good stroke of luck considering I wanted to post something more about the strip for those who might not be familiar with it. Rather than paraphrasing Caniff, I thought I'd let him tell you about Terry's origins in his own words.

The Lost Goldmine day 1

When it comes to classic adventure comic strips, they don't come much more classic than Milton Caniff's Terry And The Pirates. Starting today I'm posting Terry's first story, "The Lost Goldmine." Check back each Saturday for more.

the big tease

I love the teaser strips they used to run in the paper before a new series would begin. I have a few and thought Terry and the Pirates would be a nice one to start with.

Once I scanned the strip I started thinking, why don't I just stick with Terry and give my peeps out there his first adventure. Would anyone be interested in seeing Terry on Saturdays for a while?
