thrillmer's decision '04, candidate 2: Peter Scratch

Our second candidate is none other than that tough-talking private-eye, Mr. Peter Scratch (like I could tell him he couldn't run again). Sure he still lives with his mom, but don't you dare make fun of his name. You want to end up in hot water, go ahead; it's your funeral...

A vote for Pete gets his very first story, so keep that in mind come election day.

Closure

Well, this is it for Peter Scratch; we exit the tale in much the same way we entered. It's been fun - thanks for sharing, Mr. Scratch!

I'm wondering what to do now that we've reached the end, I'm thinking of putting it to a vote. Watch this space for your chance to be part of the democratic process.

Peter Scratch begins today

Today starts our first Peter Scratch story here at thrillmer.com.

Peter Scratch, illustrated by Lou Fine and scripted by Elliot Caplin, ran from the fall of 1965 to sometime in 1967. The run I'm posting is notable for the early work of another artist, Neal Adams, who ghosted part of this story allowing Fine a chance to catch up on deadlines. It's pretty easy to tell when the switch is made...

At any rate, sit back and enjoy this tale of action and adventure in Istanbul.

From May 30-31, 1966.

Peter Scratch makes the scene

Hey adventure fans,

Pete Scratch here. When it comes to hardboiled, well, let's say I was the last one out of the jacuzzi if you catch my meaning. Word on the street is this Thrillmer cat has got himself some serious space to fill, and I'm just the guy to do it. I haven't been making the rounds much since the Sixties, so I figure it's about time I let you all know what's what. Be here Monday, and keep your yap shut if you know what's good for you. I'm telling the tale of a trip I once took to Istanbul...and I'm not about to put up with any lip.
