I have seen Serenity...

...and it is good. Damn good.

There's always a temptation to discuss all the great things in a film you have just enjoyed, but I will resist. You owe it to yourself to go in cold, be you a hardcore Firefly fan, or simply a curious movie-goer. And if you are a fan, do you remember how it felt when the show was unceremoniously cancelled and rumors of a major motion picture started popping up? Remember feeling like you couldn't wait another minute for it to hit the screen? Well, I am here to tell you it is absolutely worth the wait.

So, while I don't wish to say too much in fear of ruining your experience at the theater, I will honor my duty to spread the hype - they did give me a free ticket after all. There are some great character moments throughout; it's safe to say no matter who your favorite member of the Serenity crew is, he/she has a chance to shine. Some more than others, but you probably already guessed that. There are lots of great lines delivered at just the right moment, I only wish I hadn't heard some of them so many times in the trailers. See, it's best to go in cold! There's plenty of action and excitement too, but that's all I'm saying. Okay, some of it had me nearly gripping the edge of my seat, so take that for what it's worth...

So, I know, not much of a review. Just trust your pal Thrillmer and go see the darn thing. It's a well shot, well acted, ripping adventure yarn. Something tells me anyone visiting this blog will appreciate that sort of thing.

Serenity opens across the USA this Friday, September 30.
