thrillmer keeps plugging away

Today I went searching for the new Big Fun, but no one seems to have it. I did however find an unexpected strip reprint book in the form of Fatty Arbuckle and his Funny Friends.

I've been flipping through it; fun, but seems more like the kind of thing my pal Holmes would really dig. Much respect to Fantagraphics for continuing to put out this kind of material.

Another strip reprint I bought recently is the It's Only A Game collection from About Comics. All of the Charles M. Schulz/Jim Sasseville strips are reprinted in one handy little volume.

It's all single panel gags revolving around sports (there are a lot of Bridge jokes for some reason). Certainly not Schulz's strongest material, but worth a look. Personally, I'd never even seen any of these, so I'm very happy to own it.
