nice to see

Experts kept saying how "surprised" everyone was about "the outpouring" for Reagan, but saying didn't make it so. The dirty little secret of the week: The outpouring didn't live up to its hype. "There was this kind of extraordinary outpouring not by the public but by reporters who should know better," as Morley Safer told Larry King.

The above is from a piece entitled "Hyperbole as Numbing as Muzak" by the New York Times' Frank Rich, which I found by way of The International Herald Tribune. The article name checks Ted Rall, who has been getting his share of hate lately.
